Raising Funds and Awareness in Honour of Their Dad
Rob and James Farnham are once again proudly partnering with Cancer Council as ambassadors for Daffodil Day, continuing their commitment to raising awareness and funds for life-saving cancer research.
The brothers first took on the role last year in support of their father, Australian music icon John Farnham, who was diagnosed with oral cancer in August 2022. Inspired by his strength and the vital role that research played in his treatment, they’re back in 2025 to continue their mission.
“We’re back again this year to honour our dad and help others going through the same challenges,” said Rob Farnham. “We’ve seen first-hand the impact cancer research can have, and we’re incredibly grateful for the treatment and care Dad has received. We want to keep spreading hope.”
James Farnham added, “With more than 460 Australians diagnosed with cancer every day last year, support services and research are more important than ever. Whether you’re buying daffodils or taking on the Daffodil Day Dip, every effort and every donation helps fund life-saving work and brings us closer to a future free from cancer."
Cancer Council is urging all Australians to get involved throughout August, with a goal to surpass the $3.3 million raised in 2024 and reach $4 million raised for cancer research in 2025.
How to get involved:
• Donate online
• Host a Daffodil Day fundraiser
• Send an exclusive, artist-designed eCard
• Take on a challenge like the Daffodil Day Dip – a cold plunge in the ocean, a pool, or even a bath to raise funds and show your support
For all that cancer takes, Australians are urged to give this Daffodil Day, Thursday 21 August 2025.
