Australian tennis legend Jelena Dokic, former World Number 8 and Australian Fed Cup Captain Alicia Molik and Judy Dalton, who along with eight others including Billie Jean King started professional women’s tennis in the 70’s, lead an all-star cast at the sold-out Women’s Tennis Foundation Breakfast with the Stars event at Royal South Yarra Tennis Club on Tuesday 9 February 2021.
“The Breakfast with the Stars” is the Women’s Tennis Foundation’s Scholarship Program annual fundraiser to support emerging Australian tennis stars.
Scholarship Players including Astra Sharma, Ellen Perez, Maddison Inglis, Olivia Gadecki, Belinda Woolcock and Lizette Cabrera will be on court competing alongside Australian World Number One Ashleigh Barty at next week’s Australian Open.
“Thanks to our partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, donations to our scholarship fund are tax deductible so even if you can’t be at the event, you can still support these great young women to be their best on and off the court,” said Women’s Tennis Foundation President Brigette McGuire.
Thanks to ULR Jaguar Malvern, Channel Nine’s Livinia Nixon returns as event MC to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in tennis.
“Sport is fundamental to the development of young people, teaching valuable life skills such as resilience, teamwork and leadership. And of course, it is through investing in our young talent that we create the champions of the future – which is why it so important to make a tax-deductible donation to support the fantastic work of the Women’s Tennis Foundation,” said Patrick Walker CEO of the Australian Sports Foundation.
